National Standards for Grades K-4
Elementary level students use clay, rolling pins, crayons, and beans in six creative, action packed, attention grabbing measuring activities. Hands on experiences help students gain practice measuring length, volume, and mass; learn to measure volumes of irregularly shaped items by volumetric difference; and associate using metric measurement units in science. Students gain experience using measurement related terminology in context. Includes student data sheets and an answer key. Allow 90 - 120 minutes to complete all six activities. Designed for 24 students working in groups of four. Balance suggested, not included.
